George DeVaux, MBA, BSChE
Experienced senior executive who has overseen multiple major industrial design, engineering and construction enterprise systems around the globe. After transitioning into startup leadership, he has created multiple profitable ventures in biotechnology and software, including founding BioDevelopment Corp. to develop, manufacture, and commercialize a medication for the management of narcotic addiction. Mr. DeVaux has worked closely with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) on multiple projects commercializing diagnostic and therapeutic products. In the case of addiction fighter Levo-Alpha-Acetyl-Methadol (LAAM), his company obtained FDA approval for marketing the drug in record time, leading the Research Pharmaceutical and Manufacturers Association to recognize his company for outstanding product innovation. In addition to executive management of AptAvian™ operations, Mr. DeVaux will oversee financeand accounting, and will participate actively as AptAvain™ partners with the FDA and other public science agencies in the development and licensing of aptagenic™ products.
Dc. S Norman Marchand, P.E.
Leader in technology development at the intersection of materials science, engineering, and aptagenic™ innovation. His work includes the (a) design, engineering, and creation of the mechanical and electronic platforms on which AptAvian™ technologies are built; (b) supervising the development of the novel pattern recognition algorithm enabling aptagenic™ technology to recognize and quantify airborne pathogens; and (c) supervising the design of novel biosensor materials using computational physics and chemistry tools. Dr. Marchand will oversee the continuing phased development and operation of his patented aptagenic™ technology, including acquisition of equipment and materiel to fabricate commercial products.
G. Thomas Caltagirone, Ph.D.
has more than 25 years of research and business experience in biotechnology including as a pioneer in the field of aptagenic™ technology. His doctoral degree in neuroscience from Drexel University College of Medicine included thesis work performed at Yale University. As well as expertise in the fields of molecular biology and neuroscience, through his Pennsylvania company, Aptagen™, Dr. Caltagirone is a global leader in the development of aptamer science (including aptagenics™) and molecular engineering. The Aptagen Laboratory is an international training hub for innovative technology, annually gathering cohorts of young biotech professionals for hand-on antigenic experimentation and development. Dr. Caltagirone will oversee development and engineering of the unique aptamers crucial to AptAvian™ technology, development and procurement of the Lateral Flow Assay detection line of products, and aptamer manufacture and procurement.
Maureen Koetz, B.A., J.D.
has served as the Presidentially-appointed Acting Assistant Secretary for Installations, Environment, and Logistics in the US Air Force, and counsel to the US Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, positions in which she oversaw operations of multiple federal security, energy, and land/wildlife management agencies, while also providing Congressional testimony, securing billions in appropriations, and innovating management systems for improved operations. Her range of expertise includes climate change (including negotiations of the Kyoto Protocol) and the broad array of geocapital asset issues setting the global conditions for spread of pathogens and disease affecting numerous industries in addition to agriculture. Her high-level management experience translates to superior knowledge of the public sector markets created by government agencies in need of products, as well as the myriad rules and regulations that drive requirements in private sector markets for public health protection, transportation and other infrastructure safety and security, Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear Defense (CBRN-D), contamination remediation, fish and wildlife management, and energy production. In overseeing AptAvian™ External Relations, Ms. Koetz will bring her extensive experience to outreach, communications, and product marketing to public and private sector users.
