AptAvian™ was formed in 2023 by two top firms in the field of aptamer production and airborne detection and qualification engineering to commercialize innovative, aptagenic™ technology platforms that can detect pathogens and agents in real time, including while airborne, and deliver immediate, effective protection and therapeutic responses that limit harm and loss from any resulting disease.

  AptAvian™ is focusing its unique capabilities on airborne pathogens and agents to form a bio radar that detects pathogens before infection is rampant. Specialized AptAvian™ aptamers bring high affinity and high specificity to the threat and engineer Aptagenic™ products to neutralize the pathogens. Over $3 million dollars of research and development investment has produced multiple patents for AptAvian’s™ novel aptagenic™ technologies needed in the pandemicene era. Throughout the development, engineering, and testing processes we use the principles of IVS™ (In Vivo Simulatum {within the body simulated}) to assure product effectiveness and safety. 

 Aptamers, a name derived from the Greek word aptus meaning “to fit,” and first generated by two research groups independently in 1990, are single-stranded DNA or RNA sequences obtained through a combinatorial chemistry technique called Systematic Evolution of Ligands by Exponential Enrichment (SELEX). Aptamers  can fold into secondary and three-dimensional shapes, enabling them to recognize various target molecules with high specificity and affinity, including proteins, small molecules, metal ions, bacterial cells, viruses, cancer cells, and even tissues.
